Mapalo’s Pride Soccer Academy

Sports, and in this case football, are a powerful tool to promote values such as education, inclusion, respect, and discipline. In contexts like Chipulukusu, Ndola, where opportunities and stimuli are very limited and dreams are often set aside to face everyday challenges, sports can become a bridge to a better future—or at least a reason for young people to believe in themselves, have fun, and learn the values of teamwork.

MAPSA Academy was founded in 2022 by a young man, Jam Mo Car, born and raised in this community, with the goal of keeping children away from the risks of delinquency, alcohol and drug abuse, early pregnancies, and any behavior that could jeopardize their future. Today, the academy counts more than 70 athletes, 3 teams, and many supporters who volunteer their time, energy, and all the resources they can gather to help the team.

 

However, our football school also needs your support to provide our young athletes with the sports equipment they need to train and grow.

With your help, we will purchase:

• 30 footballs – €22 each

• 70 pairs of shoes – €19 per pair

• 3 training kits for 16 players – €106 per kit

• 4 match kits for 16 players – €106 per kit

• 12 sets of socks for 16 players – €43 per set

• 10 pairs of goalkeeper gloves – €24 per pair

 

Training equipment:

• 4 sets of 10 cones – €16 per set

• 2 sets of 50 training bibs – €16 per set

• 4 sets of 5 hurdles – €38 per set

 

Other expenses:

The rest of the budget will be used to cover travel costs (approximately €500), refereeing fees (approximately €350), water during matches, and any other team needs throughout the season.

We are personally involved!

We are here in Zambia, in close contact with the boys, girls, and the football school every day. Together with the coaches, we will personally purchase the sports equipment with the funds raised, ensuring maximum transparency and effectiveness in managing the donations.
